Merry Christmas

Brother Knights,

Christmas 2021 marks the 144th anniversary of Blessed McGivney’s first Mass, on December 25, 1877. He was ordained 3 days prior, on Ember Saturday 1877, and on Christmas he offered this Traditional Latin Mass at his hometown parish of Immaculate Conception Church in Waterbury, Connecticut. If he offered a the 3rd Mass of Christmas, the Mass of the Day, the Introit would have been:

Isaiah 9:6 & Psalm 97:1

Puer natus est nobis, et fílius datus est nobis: cujus impérium super húmerum ejus: et vocábitur nomen ejus, magni consílii Angelus. Ps. Cantáte Dómino cánticum novum, quia mirabília fecit.

A child is born to us, and a Son is given to us: Whose government is upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called the Angel of great counsel. Ps. Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: because He hath done wonderful things.

On this note, we wish everybody a Merry Christmas.

Vivat Jesus
