It is known that many young families – especially young men – are attending the Traditional Latin Mass and becoming involved in Knights of Columbus councils at their parishes. In 2023 our Network conducted an informal survey with a handful of councils, to examine the extent to which this growth might also impact Knights of Columbus Councils based at parishes offering the Latin Mass.
Our findings strongly suggest that younger men now attending the Latin Mass are becoming active in their parish’s councils, especially after July 1, 2020 (when parishes gradually began to re-open after COVID).
Although the sampling is small, this data seems to confirm that the Latin Mass is not only attracting young men, but is also attracting them to councils established at Latin Mass parishes – representing an area of future growth for the Knights of Columbus. At a time when men are falling away from their faith, these statistics offer a glimpse of hope where future Knights may be found or reactivated.
Vivat Jesus!
