Brother Knights,
We wanted to thank everyone who joined us in
praying the novena for Ven. Fr. Michael McGivney’s canonization. Today, Sunday
March 29 is Passion Sunday, which begins the 2 week period where we meditate
more closely on Our Lord’s Passion. With the restriction of public Masses and
Holy Communion, this Passiontide allows the faithful to grow closer to Christ,
uniting ourselves more closely to the Cross during this time of suffering and penance.
Today is also Founder’s Day for the Knights,
when Ven. Father McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus 138 years ago, March
29, 1882.
The Knights of Columbus website has a nice
write up on Fr. McGivney in light of the concerns about living in unsettling
times:
Vivat Jesus!
