Carmelite Lenten Offering: Enroll Your Loved Ones in 40 Days of Latin Masses (Deadline March 4)

Lent begins this Wednesday March 5. In preparation, we share a wonderful annual Lenten offering by the traditional Carmelite Hermits of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Fairfield, PA which you can begin to enroll in today. The deadline to enroll is tomorrow Tuesday March 4 (day before Lent).

The Hermits will be offering the following during Lent:

  • 40 Traditional Latin Masses (Carmelite Rite)
  • 40 days of praying the Divine Office (and other daily prayers), and;
  • 40 days of fasting and penance

Enroll those most in need to benefit from 40 Masses and 40 days of prayer and penance offered by the Discalced Hermits of Our Lady of Mount Carmel this Lent. Anyone can be enrolled but especially it is beneficial for those in need of conversion, healing, or strength.

Although the enrollment is free, the Hermits survive entirely on alms from the laity, and as such please consider a donation to help support their apostolate. Also noteworthy is a few members of Hermits’ community are brother Knights. To learn more and enroll, visit: https://www.edcarm.org/lent and also see this inspiring video

No human tongue can enumerate the favors that trace back to the Sacrifice of the Mass. The sinner is reconciled with God; the just man becomes more upright; sins are wiped away; vices are uprooted; virtue and merit increase; and the devil’s schemes are frustrated.” – Saint Lawrence Justinian

Has your Council received any important KofC awards?

Brother Knights,

With the growth of the Knights of Columbus at Latin Mass parishes, many recently-formed Latin Mass councils are now maturing, growing, and receiving recognition for their impact in their parish, district or state/province. In short, several Latin Mass Councils are receiving noteworthy K of C distinctions and awards, such as:

•    Star Council
•    Columbian Award
•    State Council of the Year, or
•    Other Knights-approved recognition

To help document this new growth, the Traditional Knights Latin Mass Network would like to collect data on these awards to help the growth of Latin Mass councils. The cumulative data may be shared in future correspondence with Supreme, or on our website.

If you belong to a Latin Mass Council*, would you or an officer of your Council be able to complete this quick survey?

Latin Mass Councils – Distinctions and Notable Achievements

* What is a Latin Mass Council? A Latin Mass Council is a council either based at an Ecclesia Dei community (FSSP, Institute of Christ the King, full diocesan TLM parish/chapel); or is part of an Ordinary Form parish that also offers the Extraordinary Form, and has a sizeable membership from among the Extraordinary Form attendees. If you have questions, please contact us.

Examples of these distinctions can be found on page 4 at the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter's February 2025 newsletter which features Holy Family Council in Dayton, Ohio (#3730). Click here to view.
