Since Pope Benedict XVI issued Summorum Pontificum in 2007, providing greater availability and usage of the Extraordinary Form Mass (Traditional Latin Mass), many faithful have come to discover the richness of this ancient liturgy.
One area that has benefited from this new interest are Knights of Columbus Councils, particularly based at parishes offering the Extraordinary Form.
These Councils, established or re-established in the last two decades, have grown and matured and, thanks to the influx of new young men, are now beginning to achieve important milestones.
In 2025, the Traditional Knights Latin Mass Network, desiring to document this maturation and growth, conducted a small survey of Latin Mass-based Councils.
The results, albeit small, do show that Latin Mass-based Councils are benefiting from this new interest among men, and is reflected in the Councils' receiving Order-encouraged awards and distinctions.
Although these Councils are a relatively small sample across the Order, the survey confirms that these Councils continue to represent a potential growth area for the Knights of Columbus in the future.
