Report: Solemn Pontifical Mass for Annunciation 2021

On Thursday, 25 March 2021, the Most Reverend William J. Waltersheid, Auxiliary Bishop of Pittsburgh, offered a Traditional Latin Solemn Pontifical Mass for the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at St. Titus Church in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.

Since the Annunciation fell on Thursday in Passion Week this year, the crucifix and statues were veiled.

Fr. Jean-Luc Zadroga, OSB, Administrator Pro Tem of St. Titus Parish, served as Assistant Priest, Brother Cassian Edwards, OSB, served as Deacon, and Fr. Joachim Morgan, OSB, Parochial Vicar of St. Titus Parish, served as Sub-Deacon.

James Kuniega served as Master of Ceremonies #1, and Camden Sarver served as Master of Ceremonies #2.

The Mass was offered in reparation for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Fr. Cyprian Constantine, OSB, was the organist, while Devren Yener directed the schola.

This was the first Traditional Latin Solemn Pontifical Mass offered at St. Titus Church in over 57 years, and Bishop Waltersheid's first in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

(The Traditional Knights Latin Mass Network organizes a novena to Blessed McGivney each year, but this year we will do this in the lead up to his newly established feast day of August 13).

Pray the Blessed Michael McGivney Novena March 20-28

Knights, their families and others are encouraged to pray the Blessed Michael McGivney Novena from March 20 until March 28, concluding the day before the 139th anniversary of the founding of the Knights of Columbus. The novena includes daily reflections about the life and priestly virtues of the Order’s founder, Father Michael J. McGivney. Each day includes petitions invoking his intercession and concludes with the prayer for his canonization. Daily recorded videos of the novena will be posted on the Knights’ official Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube accounts and can also be accessed on the Father Michael J. Feast of St. Gregory the Great - Friday March 12

Brother Knights,

Just a reminder that tomorrow Friday, March 12 is the feast of our network’s patron, St. Gregory the Great. On that day, please consider praying for his intercession for our network, and the growth of the Latin Mass in the Knights of Columbus.

As noted from our website: 

 Our Patron is Saint Gregory the Great, who was Pope in the late sixth and early seventh centuries. He is known as the Father of Christian Worship because he made a general revision to the Mass, as celebrated in Rome at that time, bringing it into the form it retained for almost fourteen hundred years. This form, as codified by the Council of Trent, is sometimes referred to as the Tridentine or Traditional Latin Mass. St. Gregory thus provided us the Order of Mass with the prayers, antiphons and readings even in the more recent Ordinary Form. Furthermore, because of his association with Gregorian chant, he reflects the rich liturgical tradition of the Church.

Pray Benedictus: A New Monthly Guide for Latin Mass

·         We are pleased to share that a new publication, Benedictus, is being published for the Traditional Latin Mass, which includes daily readings for the Mass. It’s not a missal but a monthly guide that features the readings for Latin Mass, as well as meditations, reflections for the Traditional Latin Mass. It has been endorsed by many notable traditional priests including , Archbishop Viganò, Bishop Schneider and others. 

The publication comes out in July but they are taking subscriptions now.

Announcing the Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima

About the Confraternity

The Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima is a world-wide family of Catholics who are dedicated to bringing about the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as soon as possible and are dedicated to spending the rest of their lives living out the call of Our Lady of Fatima and in doing penance for poor sinners and reparation to Her Immaculate Heart.

It was started in 2020 by Christopher P. Wendt, the International Director and Dr. Michael Sirilla, Professor of Dogmatic and Systematic Theology at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, and became approved by His Excellency Bishop Athanasius Schneider on July 26, 2020.

It is growing like wildfire all over the world and is an answer to the times that we are currently living in where Russia’s errors are spreading.

I encourage Catholic faithful to join the Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima and become a practicing member. The Confraternity is a worldwide family united with one purpose – the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as she promised it in her apparitions in Fatima. Members work each day to bring this about by living out the call of Our Lady of Fatima, consecrated to Her as families, and then praying that the Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart in the manner that She asked for. In the dark times that we live in, the goals of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima and their practical realization will be a necessary and helpful spiritual means in the warfare against the works of Satan and the powers of this world and in the supplication for the conversion of Russia, so that a time of peace and the grace-filled era of the Triumph of Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart may arrive. This will be the time of a true springtime of the Church, where grace will be more abundant, more souls will be saved and God more glorified in the Royal and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus.

Prayer for the Holy Father to Consecrate Russia

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, you are the holy Mother of God and our tender Mother.

Look upon the distress in which the Church and the whole of humanity are living

because of the spread of materialism and the persecution of the Church.

In Fatima, you warned against these errors, as you spoke about the errors of Russia.

You are the Mediatrix of all graces. Implore your Divine Son to grant this special grace for the Pope:

that he might consecrate Russia to your Immaculate Heart,

so that Russia will be converted, a period of peace will be granted to the world, and your Immaculate Heart will triumph,

through an authentic renewal of the Church in the splendor of the purity of the Catholic Faith,

of the sacredness of Divine worship and of the holiness of the Christian life.

O Queen of the Holy Rosary and our sweet Mother, turn your merciful eyes to us and graciously hear this our trusting prayer.

Spiritual Lenten Enrollment Offer (Tuesday deadline)

Brother Knights,

We wanted to share with you a wonderful offer this Lent. The traditional Carmelite Hermits of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Fairfield, PA are again offering a special Lenten spiritual enrollment which you can begin to participate in today.

The Hermits will be offering:

• 40 Traditional Latin Masses
• 40 days of praying the Divine Office (and other daily prayers), and;
• 40 days of fasting and penance
